The Listening Program 2-Day Regional Training

By training as a Provider of The Listening Program (TLP) you will learn a gentle, effective, and affordable method of listening training and how easy TLP is to incorporate into your practice. As a TLP Provider you will be able to offer your clients a practical tool that will accelerate their rate of change and improve treatment outcomes.
TLP Provider Training is hands-on. It provides you the information you need to immediately apply The Listening Program method and individualise listening plans to address specific client needs.
As a TLP Provider you will receive on going support from Learning Solutions. With mentoring, client support, newsletters, eGroups, conferences, advanced training, and ongoing research and development you will find your experience as a TLP Provider will add greatly to your professional and personal development.
This 2 day course is ideal for SLT's, OT's, SENCO's, Physiotherapists, and specialists working with movement, development and learning. Learn how to incorporate TLP within your own practice to complement the other services you provide.
Applications are welcomed from anyone with a degree level qualification in health, education, child development, music or other related fields. Non graduates with relevant experience in these areas will also be considered on an individual basis.

Training Objectives
Upon completion, participants will be able to describe the purpose of and elements in The Listening Program®, identify individuals who might benefit, administer and modify listening schedules to meet the specific needs of the client, recommend approved sound equipment, answer client questions, and gain fundamental knowledge in the following areas:
- Introduction to The Listening Program - Proficient in explaining The Listening Program
- Ear/Brain and Sensory Integration - Understand the fundamental organization of the central nervous system and sensory processing
- Auditory Processing - Learn the fundamentals of auditory processing and how it can be improved
- Authorized Provider Procedures and Resources - Understand the role of the Authorized Provider, how to provide materials to clients, and what resources are available for continued learning and support
- ABT Music & Technical Production - Understand the fundamentals of ABT Music production. Learn about the primary sound processing techniques and their purpose.
- Modular Design - Learn how the CDs and program are designed to fit the unique needs of each listener
- Listening Schedules - Determine which schedule to implement for each client, and how to modify to meet their unique needs and goals
- Sound Equipment - Recommend TLP-approved sound equipment
- Program Implementation - Identify individuals who might benefit, conduct client intake, monitor and support clients and use relevant pre and post assessment tools
Course completion will provide participants with recognition as an Authorized Provider of The Listening Program, allowing them to consult and monitor clients in the home, school or clinic. TLP-approved sound equipment and materials are required to offer The Listening Program and may be ordered at the course.
