Brain Gym ®

Brain Gym ® is a series of fun and effective movements to help your children’s listening, learning and development. Learn the Brain Gym movements from an accredited Brain Gym Instructor, Alan Heath, and understand:

• How to integrate Brain Gym into your daily routine
• Why movement develops brain function and improves processing through the senses
• When to use movements for improving:
  • General development
  • Writing and thinking skills
  • Listening and memory
  • Stress and anxiety release
  • Tuning up vision for reading and hand/eye co-ordination.
  • Gross and fine motor skills for academic skills and sports

Accelerated Learning

Accelerated Learning is a term used to describe many different techniques to improve learning effectiveness. Drawing upon the latest understanding of how our brains function and combining a range of powerful and effective techniques, this course covers:

• The up-to-date science on how we learn
• How to create a learning environment.
• Understanding how to teach to both sides of the brain
• Developing practical strategies for visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners.
• Using natural eye accessing cues to improve memory, spelling and learning abilities.

Auditory Processing - The difference between hearing and listening

Do you have children in your classes who find it difficult to listen? This course explains why a growing number of children find it difficult to listen, learn, comprehend and remember information. It also covers the links between listening, language, coordination and movement. Good auditory processing skills form the basis of speaking and listening.

• Understand the fundamentals of good listening.
• Learn how to identify children with listening difficulties rather than children who choose not to listen.
• Help your children develop good listening skills.
• Identify how to use music in the classroom to aid listening, learning and task completion.

The benefits of using certain types of music are scientifically proven to aid learning, reduce cortisol levels and stress, slow heart rate and brain wave patterns to assist concentration, relaxation and many other areas. This facilitates an ideal learning state.

Available as a 1 day INSET or 3 twilights, this course is invaluable in assisting your pupils learning and development. Suitable for Early Years, Primary and Secondary ages.

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Communication

NLP is the study of how our beliefs are formed and how we communicate with ourselves and other people. This forms the basis of our confidence and self-esteem as well as our perceptions of the world and people around us.

This course considers how important your communication skills and intentions are to the perceptions of your students.

• Learn practical techniques to develop communication skills.
• Use simple strategies to help your children develop confidence and self-esteem.
• Learn how NLP can be used to assist individual and group objectives and goal setting.
• Understand how the brain processes and perceives language.
• Affect behavioural changes and gain agreement.

School Consultancy

Learning Solutions can offer a consultancy service direct to your school.

It will include ...

• Individual assessments of children identified as requiring assistance, ie children on the Special Needs register.
  
  
• The development, if appropriate, along with SENCO of an individual programme designed to enhance performance in those areas of need identified in the assessment
  
  
• Practical small group sessions for pupils with special needs or one-to-one sessions, if appropriate.
